There are hundreds of birds to discover in Daytona Beach
The longer I live here the more birds I discover. Common birds like the mocking bird and wood pecker are across the whole area. You can also find hawks and even bald eagles. One of my favorite places for birding is Reed Canal Park where there are a half dozen birds there just about anytime.
There are 15 Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail sites in Volusia County. Plus you could rent a kayak and paddle down the Intracoastal Waterway (Halifax River, Indian River). Here is a map of birding hotspots! many say that mid September to mid November are the best times for seeing migrating birds and the best time of day is morning.
