One of the most famous shipwrecks in the area is the Nuestra Señora de Atocha, which sank in 1622 off the coast of Key West. While the wreck is not in the Daytona Beach area, it’s believed that some of the treasure may have washed up on nearby beaches over the years.

To increase your chances of finding treasure from Spanish shipwrecks, do some research on the history of the area and any known shipwrecks. Look for areas where ships may have wrecked or where artifacts have been found in the past. Always obtain the proper permissions before detecting on any historical or archaeological sites.
