Qualification Requirements for Promotional Vacation Deals
Timeshare promotional vacation deals aren’t open to everyone — and that’s by design. Resort developers subsidize your stay because they want to present their property to visitors who are genuinely in a position to consider vacation ownership. The qualification criteria exist so both sides get something out of the arrangement.
All vacation promotions on this site are fulfilled by Monster Reservations Group LLC, a licensed Seller of Travel. Specific terms, pricing, and qualifications vary by destination and resort, but here are the general requirements that apply to most offers.
General Qualification Requirements
Most promotional vacation deals require the following:
Age: Typically 25 to 30 years of age or older, depending on the resort and destination. Both partners must meet the age requirement if traveling as a couple.
Income: Generally $50,000 or more in gross annual household income for couples, and $60,000 or more for single travelers. Some resorts and destinations may have higher thresholds.
Credit Card: A valid personal major credit card — Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Prepaid cards, debit cards, and corporate cards typically do not qualify.
Relationship Status: If you are married or in a cohabitating relationship, both partners must attend the presentation together. Resorts want both decision-makers present.
Presentation Attendance: You must attend a vacation ownership presentation at the resort, typically lasting 90 to 120 minutes. This is usually scheduled the morning after arrival. Both partners must attend for the full duration.
Residency: Most offers are available to US and Canadian residents. Some destinations may have additional residency requirements.
Who Typically Does Not Qualify
The following may disqualify you from promotional pricing:
- Under the minimum age for that specific offer
- Household income below the required threshold
- No valid major credit card
- Currently employed in the timeshare or vacation ownership industry
- Previously attended a presentation at the same resort group within the past 12 months
- Previously purchased from the same resort group
If you don’t meet the qualification criteria for a promotional deal, you can still visit these destinations at standard hotel rates through normal booking channels.
What the Presentation Involves
The presentation is a structured sales process. Here’s what generally happens:
Check-in and welcome (10-15 minutes): You meet a host who verifies your qualification information and introduces you to the property.
Property tour (20-30 minutes): A guided walk through the resort grounds, amenities, and model units. This is the best part — you get to see exactly what the accommodations look like.
Sales presentation (60-90 minutes): A one-on-one session with a sales consultant who explains the vacation ownership program, pricing, financing options, and exchange networks. You are under no obligation to purchase anything.
Exit process (10-15 minutes): After the presentation, you’ll receive your promotional gift or confirmation of your discounted stay, and you’re free to enjoy the rest of your vacation.
Important: Terms Vary by Offer
