Free Things to Do in Branson

Branson’s entertainment strip charges for shows and attractions, but the Ozark Mountains surrounding the city offer spectacular free experiences — and several of the in-town attractions are free too.

Branson Landing fountain show — A choreographed water, fire, and music fountain show at the Branson Landing waterfront. Shows run multiple times daily. Free.

Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater (exterior) — The building itself is a landmark. Free to photograph and admire.

Table Rock Lake — Fishing, Boating & Swimming Guide

Table Rock Lake is the jewel of the Ozarks — a 43,000-acre reservoir with 800 miles of shoreline, crystal-clear water, and some of the best bass fishing in the Midwest.

Fishing

Table Rock Lake is renowned for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and white bass. The lake also holds crappie, catfish, and walleye. Guided fishing trips run $300-500 for a half day. Bass Pro Shops (the flagship) is 45 minutes north in Springfield — worth the pilgrimage. Fishing licenses required — Missouri non-resident short-term licenses are $42 for 14 days.
