Things to Do in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia is in the eastern Caribbean, between Martinique to the north and Saint Vincent to the south. It’s an independent country in the Commonwealth — English is the official language, French Creole (Kwéyòl) the local one. The two iconic volcanic peaks of the Pitons rise 2,400 and 2,600 feet straight from the sea on the southwest coast — they’re a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also the country’s brand identity. The interior is genuine rainforest. The north (Rodney Bay, Gros Islet) is more developed; the south (Soufrière, the Pitons region) is dramatic, rainforested, and quieter.
