Things to Do in Mazatlán

Mazatlán sits on the Pacific coast of Sinaloa, about 730 miles south of the US border. It’s a working port city of about 500,000 — the historic Centro is one of Mexico’s best-preserved 19th-century colonial neighborhoods, the Malecón is the longest seafront boardwalk in the country (13 miles), and the offshore underwater canyon makes it one of the world’s best year-round sportfishing destinations. The Zona Dorada (Golden Zone) is the resort district; Old Mazatlán has experienced a quiet renaissance over the past 15 years and is now where most of the interesting food and culture lives.
