Scottsdale Nightlife — Best Bars, Clubs & Things To Do After Dark

Scottsdale’s nightlife centers on Old Town Scottsdale — a concentrated entertainment district where bars and clubs line the streets within walking distance of each other. The scene is upscale and expensive compared to other Arizona cities. Dress codes are enforced. Expect martinis, bottle service, and people dressed up.

Best Nightclubs & Music Venues

Bottled Blonde (Old Town) — Multi-story nightclub with rooftop pool, multiple bars, and DJ dance floor. Bottle service, dress code (nice jeans okay, sneakers no). Weekends packed, cover charge $10-20. The rooftop is the main draw.

The Montauk (Old Town) — Country nightclub with live bands, mechanical bull, and boot-stomping energy. Two-step dancers fill the floor on weekends. Cover charge typically $10-15. Dress code enforced.

Kazimierz World Wine Bar (Old Town) — Live jazz nightly in an upscale wine bar setting. No cover charge. Wine list is serious. The intimate space fills quickly; arrive before 9 PM for a table.

Coach House (Old Town) — Country nightclub with live music. Two-story venue with a dance floor and rooftop. Similar vibe to The Montauk but slightly less crowded. Cover charge $10-15.

Best Bars by Type

Upscale & Cocktail Bars

Casa Amigos (Old Town) — Tequila bar and mezcal lounge. Upscale but not stuffy. Expert bartenders, quality spirits, and a rooftop overlooking Old Town. Budget $14-18 per cocktail.

Salty Señorita (Old Town) — Tequila and margarita bar. Rooftop patio with views. The margaritas are excellent and the crowd is more relaxed than Bottled Blonde. No cover charge.

Old Town Tavern (Old Town) — Sports bar with craft beer selection and rooftop seating. More casual, good for watching games, and a better value than full nightclubs.

Kazimierz World Wine Bar (see above) — Already mentioned under music venues, but the bar experience is worth noting. Extensive wine list, knowledgeable staff, and live jazz creates a sophisticated atmosphere without pretension.

Pool Clubs & Rooftop Bars

Phoenix Modern Luxury (Old Town rooftop) — Modern nightclub with rooftop overlooking Old Town. Bottle service, dress code, and a younger crowd than some other Scottsdale venues. Cover charge varies; typically $15-25.

Sanctuary (Camelback Mountain) — Resort nightclub with pool, cabanas, and rooftop club. Bottle service required. Expensive but the views are unmatched. This is high-end Scottsdale.

Dive Bars & Local Spots

Rusty Spur Saloon (Old Town) — Actual dive bar in a sea of upscale nightclubs. Jeans and t-shirts are fine. Pool table, strong pours, and locals mixed with tourists. No cover. Cash bar.

Sugar Daddy’s (Old Town) — Strip club / gentleman’s club. Not everyone’s scene, but it exists in Old Town and operates openly. Dress code (no flip-flops, no tank tops). Cover charge.

Best for Groups

Old Town Bar Crawl — Start at Casa Amigos, move to Salty Señorita, hit Rusty Spur Saloon for authenticity, then end at Bottled Blonde or The Montauk depending on energy level. All spots are within walking distance. Groups of 6-12 flow naturally through the district.

Bottled Blonde + Rooftop Crawl — Start at the rooftop pool at Bottled Blonde, move to Phoenix Modern Luxury rooftop, end at Casa Amigos or Salty Señorita. Three rooftops, same neighborhood, no driving needed.

Country Club Night — Bottled Blonde and The Montauk have mechanical bull and country vibes. Good for groups who want a specific activity (mechanical bull riding, dancing).

What to Know

Dress Code — Enforced at most nightclubs. No sneakers (leather shoes preferred), no athletic wear, no flip-flops, no baggy pants. Nice jeans are usually okay. Rooftop and upscale bars are stricter. Dive bars (Rusty Spur) don’t care.

Cover Charges — Nightclubs run $10-25 per person on weekends. Upscale bars and wine lounges have no cover. Dive bars have no cover. The amount varies based on who’s DJing or playing live.

Expensive — Scottsdale nightlife is pricey. Expect $8-14 for beer, $12-18 for cocktails, $16-24 for wine. Bottle service (required at some clubs) starts at $100-200. Budget accordingly.

Parking — Old Town has a parking garage and street parking. Arrive early or use Uber/Lyft. Parking runs $5-10.

Last Call — Most bars close at 2 AM weekdays, 3 AM weekends. Sanctuary and resort clubs sometimes stay later.

Age & ID — Scottsdale enforces ID checks aggressively. Bring a passport or driver’s license. If you look under 35, expect to be carded.

Heat — Scottsdale gets brutally hot in summer (110°F+). Winter nightlife is more pleasant. Stay hydrated.

Strip Clubs — Gentlemen’s clubs exist but are not the main scene. Scottsdale’s nightlife is more geared toward upscale cocktail bars and nightclubs.
