Poconos Nightlife — Best Bars, Casinos & Things To Do After Dark

The Poconos’ nightlife is centered around casinos, resort bars, craft breweries, and live entertainment venues. It’s not a party destination like Miami or Vegas, but it’s far from quiet. Most people combine drinking with dining or entertainment—shows at the Sherman Theater, gaming at Mount Airy Casino, brewery visits. The crowd is mixed age, from couples taking weekend getaways to groups of friends looking for a night out. Dress code is casual at breweries and casual resort bars, but dress code applies at casino restaurants and higher-end venues.

Mount Airy Casino Resort

Mount Airy is the dominant nightlife destination in the Poconos. It’s a full resort with casino, multiple bars, restaurants, and entertainment.

Mount Airy Casino Resort Main Bars — Multiple bars throughout the casino floor. The atmosphere is standard casino—bright lights, slot machines in the background, age mix of people. Cocktails are reasonably priced ($8–14), beer is cheap. Open 24 hours. The energy builds in the evening and weekends.

Pub at Mount Airy — A more casual bar within the resort. Pool tables, TVs, and a crowd that’s there to hang out, not just gamble. Less casino-y feeling than the main casino floor bars.

Sycamore Creek Bar & Grill — The resort’s upscale bar with craft cocktails and a better drink program. More sophisticated crowd, better bartenders, and actual cocktail knowledge. Dress code is enforced (no athletic wear, no flip-flops).

Brass Rail Buffet (when it has live entertainment) — Sometimes live music or DJ entertainment. Check the resort’s event calendar.

Local Breweries — Craft Beer Scene

The Poconos have developed a strong craft beer scene. Breweries are casual, food-focused, and great for groups.

Barley Creek Brewing Company — The flagship Poconos brewery. Taproom with 20+ beers on tap, full food menu, and a relaxed atmosphere. The IPA is their signature. Groups are common, kids are welcome early evening. Open until 10 p.m. most nights. This is where locals go.

Pocono Brewing Company — Similar to Barley Creek in scale and vibe. 15+ beers on tap, food menu, and a casual crowd. Good for a brewery afternoon that turns into evening drinking. Community-focused.

Delaware Gap Brewing — Smaller brewery, more intimate taproom, and a serious beer crowd. Less family-friendly than the other two, more beer-focused. Open until 9 p.m. most nights.

Sherman Theater — Live Entertainment

Sherman Theater — Historic 1,400-seat theater in Stroudsburg. Hosts touring acts, comedy shows, tribute bands, and local performances. Ticket prices vary from $30–80+ depending on the act. The venue has a bar, and pre-show/post-show drinking is part of the scene. Check the calendar—acts range from classic rock tributes to stand-up comedians.

Resort Bars Beyond Mount Airy

The Poconos have multiple resorts, and many have bars worth visiting even if you’re not staying there.

Big Bass Lake Resort — Smaller resort with a casual bar scene. Less formal than Mount Airy, more neighborhood feeling. Good for a quieter night out.

Split Rock Resort — Has a bar and occasionally entertainment. More family-resort vibe but adults are welcome in the bar area.

Dining-Focused Venues with Serious Bar Programs

Many of the Poconos’ best drinks are attached to restaurants.

Sycamore Creek Bar & Grill (already mentioned) — At Mount Airy but deserves emphasis for cocktails.

The Legendary — Restaurant with a bar program. Modern American food, craft cocktails, and a more sophisticated crowd. Dress code enforced.

Sammy C’s — Italian restaurant with a full bar. Wine-focused but also cocktails. Good crowd, good food, good drinks.

Casual Neighborhood Bars

If you want a real neighborhood bar experience, these exist but are quieter than the resort/casino scene.

The Woodsman — Dive bar in East Stroudsburg. Pool, darts, cheap beer, and no pretense. This is where actual locals go.

Main Street Tavern — Another neighborhood spot with local clientele. Similar vibe to The Woodsman but slightly more upscale.
