Best Restaurants in the Poconos

The Pocono Mountains have evolved beyond resort buffets and diner food. Jim Thorpe and Stroudsburg have growing restaurant scenes, craft breweries are popping up in the mountains, and several restaurants are worth a drive through the forest to find.

Jim Thorpe (Historic Downtown)

Moya (Jim Thorpe) — Latin-American restaurant in a historic building. Creative dishes, craft cocktails, and one of the most interesting menus in the Poconos.

Stroudsburg & East Stroudsburg

Saen Thai Cuisine — Thai food that’s legitimately good. The curries, pad Thai, and pho (yes, they have Vietnamese pho too) are well-executed.

Siamsa Irish Pub — Traditional Irish pub with shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and a whiskey selection. Live music on weekends.

Mountain & Resort Dining

The French Manor Inn (Canadensis) — French country dining in a stone chateau. Multi-course dinners, a fireplace setting, and the most romantic restaurant in the Poconos. Reservations required.

Barley Creek Brewing Company (Tannersville) — The Poconos’ best brewery. House-brewed beers, pub food, and a family-friendly atmosphere near Camelback Resort.

Couples & Romantic

The Poconos have a long history as a couples’ destination, and several restaurants cater specifically to romantic dining:

Desaki (Mountainhome) — Japanese steakhouse with teppanyaki cooking. The chef grills in front of your table.

Frogtown Chophouse (Canadensis) — Steakhouse in a converted grist mill. Candlelit, intimate, and the ribeye is excellent.
