Wilderness at the Smokies is a waterpark resort in SEVIERVILLE, billed as Tennessee's largest indoor waterpark — the Wild WaterDome — with a second lodge, Stone Hill, across the street, and Soaky Mountain Waterpark directly across the road (a different park, with its own page here; the two are never mixed in these films). All five films on this page are narrated keepers, including the 2026 full tour and two brutally practical stay reviews.

The chip wristband works as both room key and waterpark pass. Beyond the WaterDome: the Adventure Forest arcade with bowling and blacklight mini golf, and Polka Dot Pots paint-your-own pottery — kiln-fired in a day or two, or by the next day if you paint before 4 p.m., or shipped home. One arrival detail matters: the building runs two check-ins, and the Wyndham desk is a separate brand from the Wilderness desk.
The expansion
Smoky Mountain Family returned for the Wild WaterDome expansion's opening weekend at Christmas 2023: the Kaleidoscope lazy river and the Ridge Runner, a three-story water coaster with three drops and uphill blasts, billed as the first slide with reverse AquaLucent effects. Bunk suites sleep six, and registered guests also get Adventure Forest passes.
The honest stays
The stay reviews do not sugarcoat the logistics: a sprawling multi-building campus, a second check-in across the street, an economy room at about $300 with tax through Groupon in 2022 with dark furnishings and one grubby microwave — and Stone Hill's small, dim bathroom noted candidly in 2020. Winter stays add a seasonal ice-skating rink. The waterpark access is the point of the stay, and every film agrees on that much.
