Wakeboarding without the boat
Orlando Watersports Complex — OWC — is Orlando's cable wake park: instead of a boat, an overhead cable pulls you around the lake, which is why this is the cheapest way in Florida to learn to wakeboard. The park's own walkthrough on this page lays out the system: two full-size cables, standard and advanced, plus a private beginner lake running the 'Get Up Guarantee' sessions.
Before you go
- Do the waiver and safety video online first — the walkthrough's main tip for getting on the water faster
- Fast laps by design — a rider's December review notes the kickers sit right off the dock, with quick swim-outs after crashes
- Shallow water — much of the lake is shallow enough to stand in, which takes the fear out of falling
- There's an aqua park too — the inflatable obstacle course that opened in 2018, plus the food counter, rounds it into a family day
The regulars' side
The riding films here span the culture: a pro session with John Dreiling, a January 2026 POV of the current obstacle setup, and a spring-2020 Thursday vlog that catches the social, regulars' side of the park — the cable as a hangout, not just a sport. If the theme parks are Orlando's stage, OWC is its rec league.
