The private-boat alternative
Most airboat tours pack a bleacher boat. Spirit of the Swamp, out of Kissimmee, built its name on the opposite: private tours in small six-passenger boats on Lake Tohopekaliga, with two-way headsets so the captain can narrate the wildlife as you ride and you can ask questions back. The venue's own films on this page exist to show the difference — open water, shoreline marsh, and room to breathe.
What the rides look like
The clips run the seasons: a September sailing skimming marsh grass, a spring tour when gators and wading birds are most active, and the welcome film's run through what the crew calls their jungle. Lake Toho is one of Florida's great bass and bird lakes, and the small-boat format gets closer to the shoreline than the big boats work.
Who it's for
Families and photographers who want the airboat experience without the crowd — and anyone pairing a morning on the water with Boggy Creek or Wild Florida for a full 'real Florida' day in the Kissimmee corridor.
An honest note on sources
Spirit of the Swamp's video presence is its own channel of short films — no independent narrated reviews exist to summarize, so this page leans on the operator's footage, labeled as such on every card.
