Orlando's original food hall
East End Market, in the Audubon Park Garden District northeast of downtown, was conceived in late 2011 after Central Florida food festivals proved there was nowhere to meet local farmers and artisan purveyors year-round. It outgrew the 5,000-square-foot indoor market first imagined into a two-story anchor for the neighborhood β food entrepreneurs, makers, and chefs below, and a garden out front that Chuy's two-visit eat-through on this page starts with.
The Gideon's tip β the reason locals come
This is the original Gideon's Bakehouse location. The full tour here delivers the key local knowledge plainly: the line at East End is far shorter than the two-to-three-hour virtual queue at the Disney Springs flagship. TheTimTracker's long vlog makes the same pilgrimage β drawn by the 'other' Gideon's β and compares menus. If the cookies are the mission, this is the door.
Upstairs and around
- The Neighbors β the cocktail bar upstairs; the hosted stroll here orders its signature, the Baldwin
- Winter Park Biscuit Company β plant-based biscuits with apple jelly, hibiscus lemonade, and 'chicken' sandwiches, per the two-visit tour
- Wafu's Japanese waffles β the first stop of the full tour
- Corrine Drive β the street threading Audubon Park to Baldwin Park and Winter Park, per the neighborhood guide here; three of Orlando's most loved neighborhoods in one line
Practical note
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but parking gets tough at busy times β arrive a little early and treat the garden as the waiting room.
