Two thousand cars in a dead mall
The Orlando Auto Museum is billionaire collector Michael Dezer's private collection — billed as the world's largest — spread through the 850,000-square-foot former Fiesta Bay Mall, opened in 2020 as Dezerland Park. The tours on this page count more than 2,000 vehicles in themed rooms, with cars lining even the corridor around the indoor go-kart track.
What to hunt for
- Screen-used stunt cars — the Fast & Furious gallery holds cars actually used in the films, including the mangled Grand National from Fast 4; one opening-week film makes the honest point that very few screen-used cars survive anywhere, most are replicas
- The 1966 Batmobile, complete with bat-phone, bat-extinguisher and bat-shark-repellent spray — one family's favorite of the whole museum
- A Bond collection among 17-plus exhibits, the Monkees' car, and the Miami Vice 'Ferrari' that is really a Corvette chassis in Ferrari bodywork
- George Barris creations anchor the movie-car rooms, including one Madonna drove
The complex around it
Admission to the complex itself is free; attractions are priced individually. Around the museum: electric go-karts on one of Florida's longest indoor tracks (intermediate, pro, legend and cadet classes), a big arcade, bowling, laser tag and mini golf — which is why the rainy-day tour on this page pitches the whole place as a theme-park alternative under one roof.
