Nashville Neighborhoods — East Nashville, The Gulch, Germantown & More
Nashville’s personality changes block by block. Each neighborhood has its own vibe, food scene, and reason to visit.
East Nashville
The creative heart of the city — indie shops, dive bars, mural-covered buildings, and some of the best restaurants in town. Five Points is the hub (the intersection of five roads). Vinyl Tap is a record store/bar. Red Door Saloon is the dive. Margot Cafe is fine dining in a converted garage.
The Gulch
Nashville’s most modern neighborhood — loft condos, upscale restaurants, and boutique shops in a former rail yard. Biscuit Love for breakfast. Rudy’s Jazz Room for evening drinks. Two Old Hippies for Nashville-made goods. The famous wings mural on the side of the What Lifts You wall is here.
Germantown
North of downtown, one of Nashville’s oldest neighborhoods — now home to the best restaurants. Monell’s for family-style Southern food. City House for Italian-Southern fusion. Von Elrod’s for beer garden and sausages. The Nashville Farmers’ Market is on the edge of Germantown.
12South
Boutique shopping and brunch along 12th Avenue South. The ‘I Believe in Nashville’ mural is here. Edley’s BBQ, Bartaco, and Draper James (Reese Witherspoon’s shop). More polished than East Nashville, less corporate than the Gulch.
