Best Breakfast & Brunch in Nashville — Biscuits, Hot Chicken & Mimosas

Best Breakfast & Brunch in Nashville

Nashville takes breakfast seriously. Biscuits are an art form, hot chicken at 10 AM is perfectly normal, and the brunch scene has exploded with boozy options that are worth navigating the weekend lines.

The Nashville Classics

Biscuit Love (The Gulch / Hillsboro Village) — The signature Nashville breakfast. The bonuts (biscuit donuts with lemon mascarpone), the East Nasty (fried chicken biscuit), and the Princess (hot chicken biscuit with pickles and mustard) are all worth the line. And there will be a line. Go before 9 AM on weekdays.

Loveless Café (Highway 100, 20 min from downtown) — Country cooking in a former motel on the way to the Natchez Trace Parkway. The biscuits are legendary — flaky, buttery, served with house-made preserves. Full Southern breakfast plates with country ham, grits, and eggs. Worth the drive.

Pancake Pantry (Hillsboro Village) — Open since 1961. The line wraps around the building on weekends and it’s been that way for decades. 23 varieties of pancakes. The sweet potato pancakes and Caribbean pancakes are signatures.

Monell’s (Germantown) — All-you-can-eat family-style breakfast. Sit at communal tables, platters come out — scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, grits, fried chicken (yes, for breakfast), and homemade preserves. It’s an experience.

East Nashville Brunch

Barista Parlor (multiple locations) — Not a restaurant, but the best coffee in Nashville. Industrial-chic spaces, single-origin espresso, and pastries. The Germantown and East Nashville locations are the originals.

Sky Blue Café (East Nashville) — Farm-to-table brunch with a focus on local ingredients. The chilaquiles and the fried green tomato BLT are standouts. Small space, no reservations, worth the wait.

The Pharmacy (East Nashville) — Yes, the burger place does brunch. Breakfast burgers, the biergarten patio, and old-fashioned phosphate sodas.

Boozy Brunch

Acme Feed & Seed (Lower Broadway) — Weekend brunch with live music and a rooftop overlooking the Cumberland River. Bottomless mimosa options.

Saint Anejo (Midtown) — Mexican-influenced brunch. Breakfast tacos, churro French toast, and excellent margaritas. The patio is one of the best brunch spots in Midtown.

Von Elrod’s Beer Hall & Kitchen (Germantown) — German-influenced brunch with sausages, pretzels, and draft beer. The Hall is massive and energetic.

Quick & Cheap

Frothy Monkey (multiple locations) — Coffee shop with a full breakfast menu. Avocado toast, grain bowls, and pastries. Good for a quick start before exploring.

Hot chicken for breakfast — Prince’s, Hattie B’s, and Bolton’s are all open for lunch (typically 11 AM), but 400 Degrees opens at 11 AM and if you haven’t tried hot chicken yet, this is a legitimate breakfast-adjacent option.
