Sea Captain's House began as a beach house and opened as a restaurant in 1962. Six decades later it sits at 3002 North Ocean Boulevard between 30th and 31st Avenue North, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner directly on the Atlantic — and it is the closest thing Myrtle Beach has to a dining institution.
The room and the view
Three full reviews converge on the same verdict. Carmen and Brian (twice, in 2023 and 2024) tour the dining rooms and both bars, inside and out, work the seafood menu, and land where its regulars land: recommended — and the view cannot be beaten. NCMemoryMakers recount the 1962 story and the breakfast buffet served daily. The Retro Myrtle Beach Guy frames it as the place families return to and order the same meal every visit, up by the Golden Mile.
The plates
The Boones eat outside: blue crab dip, a seared tuna tower, seafood sandwiches, and the signature she-crab soup, with the wine list and cocktails covered. A 2019 film from the restaurant's own team closes the set — staff describing a polished-casual, family-oriented house that had then been part of the community for 57 years, everything made fresh.
