Cherry Grove, the northernmost neighborhood of North Myrtle Beach, is the Strand's quiet end β a beach of houses rather than high-rises, running out to an inlet point where the road simply stops.
The Point
The Boones walk out to Cherry Grove Point, the secluded inlet end of Ocean Boulevard where the beach meets the marsh. They take the little walkway out and find the Angel of Hope statue shifted further out than on their last visit. Their verdict is in the film's title: still secluded β the anti-Boardwalk beach day.
Boulineau's, the town square
If Cherry Grove has a town square, it is Boulineau's β grocery, gift shop, hot-food and salad bars and beach supplies under one roof, serving the neighborhood since 1948. Two full tours a season apart (the Boones in 2026, Carmen and Brian in 2025) walk it aisle by aisle; both make the same point, that the store is a landmark, not just a supermarket β and a vacation-week strategy in itself, with the hot bar standing in for cooking in a rental.
The drives
The freshest film here is an October 2026 update drive down Ocean Boulevard to the Point β Shrimp Festival season, fall changes narrated as they pass. A November 2023 music-led ride closes the set in the quiet season.
