Best Seafood Restaurants in Myrtle Beach
The Grand Strand has hundreds of seafood restaurants — here are the ones worth your time and money.
Waterfront Dining
The Wicked Tuna at the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet — upscale seafood on the waterfront with live music. Dead Dog Saloon — casual waterfront bar and grill with a party atmosphere. Drunken Jack’s — overlooking the marsh, great raw bar. The entire Murrells Inlet MarshWalk (20 minutes south of Myrtle Beach) is the best seafood corridor in the area.
Local Institutions
Sea Captain’s House — oceanfront dining since 1962. The she-crab soup is legendary. Thoroughbreds — upscale chophouse that’s been a special-occasion destination for decades. Hoskins Restaurant — family-run, homestyle Southern seafood since 1948. Cash only.
Calabash-Style
Calabash is a small fishing village on the NC border that gave its name to a style of lightly battered, flash-fried seafood. Original Benjamin’s does an all-you-can-eat Calabash seafood buffet. Captain George’s is the mega-buffet — 170+ items. These are quantity-over-quality experiences, but they’re a Grand Strand tradition.
Best Raw Bars
Oyster Rock at Barefoot Landing has excellent raw oysters. RipTydz on the boardwalk does oysters with ocean views. Dead Dog Saloon has a solid raw bar alongside the party atmosphere.
