Las Vegas Nightlife — Best Clubs, Bars & Rooftop Lounges
Mega Clubs
Vegas nightclubs are on a different scale than anywhere else. Hakkasan at MGM Grand is a five-level, 80,000-square-foot club with world-class DJs (Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, Tiësto have all held residencies). XS at Wynn is consistently ranked the #1 nightclub in the world — the outdoor pool area is stunning. Omnia at Caesars Palace has a massive kinetic chandelier that moves with the music. Marquee at The Cosmopolitan has both a nightclub and a dayclub with rooftop pool. Cover charges range from $30-75+ for men, often free or reduced for women on the guest list. Bottle service starts around $500 and goes up fast.
Best Bars & Cocktail Lounges
The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan is a three-level bar inside a massive chandelier sculpture — the Level 1.5 “secret” bar serves a flower cocktail that makes your tongue go numb. Herbs & Rye is a speakeasy-style craft cocktail bar off the Strip that bartenders consider the best in the city. Frankie’s Tiki Room is a 24-hour tiki bar with no windows, no clocks, and dangerously strong drinks. The Laundry Room is a hidden bar behind Commonwealth downtown — text for a reservation, limited to 30 people. Parasol Up/Down at Wynn serves cocktails overlooking the Lake of Dreams.
Rooftop Bars
Skyfall Lounge at Delano (Mandalay Bay) — cocktails on the 64th floor with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the entire Strip. One of the best views in Vegas. Apex Social Club at the Palms — 55th floor, outdoor terrace, DJ. Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas — rooftop beer garden directly above the Strip with Bellagio fountain views. Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay — exclusive lounge at the top of the hotel with velvet ropes and incredible views.
Downtown & Fremont East
The nightlife on Fremont East (not to be confused with the Fremont Street Experience canopy) is where Vegas locals actually go out. Commonwealth is a craft cocktail bar with a rooftop and a hidden speakeasy. Atomic Liquors is the oldest freestanding bar in Vegas, built to watch nuclear tests from the roof (seriously). ReBar is in a converted antique shop. Corduroy is the upscale cocktail room. The whole Fremont East district is walkable and has a completely different energy from the Strip — less bottle service, more craft cocktails and live music.
Pool Parties & Dayclubs
Vegas invented the dayclub — pool party meets nightclub, daytime. Encore Beach Club at Wynn is the gold standard with DJ residencies and a massive pool complex. Wet Republic at MGM Grand books the biggest EDM names. Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan has the best views. Daylight at Mandalay Bay has a beach. Pool party season runs March through October, with peak season Memorial Day through Labor Day. Expect $30-75+ cover, or spring for cabana/daybed rentals ($500-2,000+).
Tips for Going Out
Guest lists are free and can save you $30-75 on cover — sign up online through the club’s website or promoter sites like GuestListLV.com by the afternoon before you go. Dress code is enforced: no athletic wear, no flip-flops, no tank tops for men. Collared shirts or fashionable tees, nice jeans or pants, and dress shoes or clean sneakers. For women, dress codes are more lenient. Pre-game before you go — Strip club and bar drinks are $15-20+. Ride share to and from clubs — DUI enforcement in Vegas is serious.
