Cheap Eats in Las Vegas — Food Trucks, Taco Stands & Budget Dining

You can eat like a king in Las Vegas for $15 or less — you just have to know where to look. The Strip charges $25 for a burger that costs $8 a block away. Here’s where locals eat on a budget.

Taco Stands & Mexican

Tacos El Gordo (multiple locations, Strip-adjacent) — Tijuana-style street tacos. The adobada (spit-roasted pork) is the signature. $2-4 per taco. Open late. The location near Wynn is walking distance from the Strip.

Roberto’s Taco Shop (multiple locations) — 24-hour drive-through Mexican. Breakfast burritos, carne asada plates, and super burritos at prices that make the Strip feel criminal. The go-to hangover cure.

Fausto’s Mexican Grill (multiple locations) — Burritos the size of a football for $8-10. Green chile chicken is the move.

Chinatown Budget Picks

Everything on Spring Mountain Road is cheaper than the Strip, but these are especially wallet-friendly:

District One — Vietnamese pho for $12-15. Massive portions. The bone marrow pho is worth the upgrade.

Kung Fu Thai & Chinese — Huge portions, fast service, $8-12 entrées. Open until 3 AM.

Weera Thai — Authentic Thai at strip-mall prices. Pad Thai, curries, and papaya salad for $10-14.

Food Trucks & Markets

Downtown Container Park — Collection of restaurants and bars in converted shipping containers. Pinches Tacos, Bin 702 Wine, and others. Outdoor seating, live entertainment, and a giant praying mantis sculpture that shoots fire.

First Friday (Arts District, monthly) — Dozens of food trucks congregate for the monthly art walk. The variety is incredible and most items are $5-10.

Strip Budget Hacks

In-N-Out (LINQ Promenade) — The best burger-per-dollar on the Strip. Double-Double Animal Style, fries, and a shake for under $12.

Eggslut (Cosmopolitan) — The Fairfax sandwich is $11 and it’s one of the best bites on the Strip.

Secret Pizza (Cosmopolitan, 3rd floor) — Hidden pizza joint. No sign outside. $5-7 per slice. New York-style. Open until 4 AM.

Earl of Sandwich (multiple casino food courts) — The hot turkey and cranberry sandwich is a genuine bargain at $8-9.

Casino food courts — Don’t sleep on the food courts at Luxor, Excalibur, and Circus Circus. Nathan’s, Panda Express, Johnny Rockets — chain food, but cheap and fast.

The Free Food Move

Casino slot tournaments — Some casinos give free food vouchers with slot tournament entry. Check the Player’s Club desk.

Hotel loyalty programs — Caesars Rewards, MGM Rewards, and Wynn Red Card members sometimes receive free buffet credits or dining discounts.
