Ober Mountain — Ober Gatlinburg until the 2022 rebrand — is the mountaintop park at 3,590 feet on Mount Harrison: a 10-minute Aerial Tramway ride from the Strip (or a drive up Ski Mountain Road) to a summit bundling Tennessee's longest scenic chairlift, the Tennessee Flyer mountain coaster, a wildlife encounter, an ice rink, the alpine slide and, in winter, Tennessee's only ski resort. The films span the name change, and the summaries say which era each shows.

Brandon's orientation is the planner: tram up, then the coaster and the chairlift before the indoor attractions. The Carpetbagger's long, affectionate visit — his first since the name retired — rides the tram, the alpine slide and the ice boats and judges the rebrand an improvement. The warm-season full tour (filmed 2021 under the old name) covers everything except ski season: wildlife, ice skating and bumper cars, shops, the chairlift.
Ski season
A ski-review channel grades the resort across five categories — terrain from its roughly 3,200-foot skiable summit, lifts and value — making the Southeast skier's case for and against. Adventure Is Out There's first-snowboard film is the beginner's version: rentals and tickets at the mountain, the practice slope, snow tubing (which needs no skill — start there), and a mini tour in snow season.

Ninety seconds of pure ride closes the set: the Smoky Mountain Bobsled, 1,800 feet of twin track down Mount Harrison running since 1976, speed lever in the rider's hand. Ober's Oktoberfest, filmed in fall 2026 — giant Bavarian pretzel, festival food, the scenic chairlift over autumn color — is the mountain in party dress.
