Moonshine Mountain Coaster, at 306 Parkway, is Gatlinburg's first mountain coaster under its current name: opened in 2014 as the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster (whose original-era films have their own page in this directory), renamed under new ownership around 2021–22, and renovated since. Adventure Is Out There give the lineage plainly in their series entry (#5 of twelve Smokies coasters): 'Moonshine Mountain Coaster, formerly known as the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster' — with moonshine-runner theming throughout the station.

Smoky Mountain Family's film is the renovation's verdict: a bad pre-renovation visit had driven them to walk out; they returned for the new ownership and renovations and gave the place a second chance — much improved. J & B In The Hills ride it twice in one day, a no-brakes GoPro run in daylight and a return after dark, noting the free on-site parking (rare in Gatlinburg) and the pricing as filmed: $17 a ride, $8 re-rides.
First-timers and fall color
A coaster enthusiast's first mountain coaster ever, filmed in 2026, catches the weigh-in and rules briefing (tandem drivers must be 16 or older) and a convert's verdict. The fall-foliage ride uses the coaster as a leaf-peeping vehicle at peak color; the professional 4K POV — lift through Smoky Mountain scenery, descent at up to 30 mph, filmed with management's permission — closes the page.
