The yellow chairs started Gatlinburg's attraction era in 1954, and SkyPark is what that chairlift grew into: a summit park on Crockett Mountain whose centerpiece is the SkyBridge, North America's longest pedestrian cable bridge, glass panels in its deck 500 feet over town. The park rebuilt after the 2016 wildfire and keeps adding — Tulip Tower, the Sky Trail, Clayton's Landing viewing area (new in 2025) and the Smoky Mountain Smash summit restaurant. Bear Facts' 2026 deep-dive is the history; the 2025 full tour is the current state.

MrBucketlist's quiet-day walk is the measure of the heights involved before you commit — his advice: go when it opens for an empty bridge, and know that the SkyLift ride itself is half the experience. One ticket crosses as many times as you like. Tampa Jay rates the summit the best view of downtown Gatlinburg; the 2026 guide film weighs ticket prices, time to plan and the honest downsides against Gatlinburg's other mountaintop parks.
Weather is a character
A family's first visit after years of driving past is kept honest by a storm and hail rolling in mid-visit — mountain weather closes in fast at the summit, and the film keeps it in. The two short scenic films (a five-minute 4K crossing, a two-minute RVer taster) show the calm-day version.
