Crab Island Destin — How to Get There & What to Expect

Crab Island isn’t actually an island — it’s a sandbar in Destin Pass where boaters anchor in waist-deep water.

What It Is

A shallow sandbar where boaters anchor to swim, float, and party. Floating vendors sell food and drinks boat-to-boat. Water trampolines and DJ boats show up on busy weekends.

How to Get There

You need a boat, pontoon rental, kayak, or paddleboard. Pontoon rentals ($300-500/day) from HarborWalk marinas. The sandbar is in the East Pass, visible from the Marler Bridge.

Tips

Weekdays for calm, weekends for the party. Bring anchor, cooler, sunscreen. Water is 2-4 feet deep and clear.
