Daytona hears live music at three scales — a coquina bandshell by the boardwalk, a historic auditorium a block off the beach, and a rock festival inside a superspeedway. This guide covers all three with their best films.
The Bandshell: summers of tributes, one legendary week of 1987
The modern Bandshell runs on tribute acts — an attendee's 2020 concert-night film and the Alter Eagles' 2013 set show the rhythm. Then the archive opens: in one week of March 1987 the same stage hosted Bad Brains' full hardcore set (March 20) and Bruce Hornsby & The Range's complete concert (March 24) — both preserved in full, the venue's 1980s spring-concert era on tape.
The Peabody: the legends' room
Merle Haggard's full 2011 concert and Loretta Lynn's 2013 medley anchor the auditorium's country history; the street-level walk that introduces them is, notably, the only narrated film that shows the Peabody's exterior in its oceanfront context, Ocean Center across the street.
The speedway scale
Welcome to Rockville closes the page at the other end of the volume dial: the veterans' first-timer briefing and a performance-heavy day-four finale (Insane Clown Posse, Korn) from the 2025 edition that expected about 220,000 fans. Tribute bands to touring legends to a festival city — one coastline, every decibel.
