Branson's devotion to veterans is not a slogan β it is a museum, a week on the calendar and a college that celebrates the flag like a holiday. Eight films document the whole culture, most of them told by veterans themselves.
The museum
The Veterans Memorial Museum anchors the page twice: the Mad Nomadder's hall-by-hall walk β World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East, more than 2,000 exhibits of uniforms, medals, letters and personal effects β and BunnyPlaysHere's full tour, starting at the Storming the Beach bronze out front: 70 feet long, 50 life-size soldiers, one for each state. A 360-degree film lets you drag the view through the halls for the collection's scale.
Veterans Week
Every November around Veterans Day, Veterans Week turns the town into a homecoming. USA Patriotism! experiences it β ceremonies, shows saluting veterans, and Veterans Village, the week's gathering hub β narrated by veterans who make the trip every year. Explore Branson's 2021 highlights let veterans say in their own words why they come back: 'It's like a big hug for the veterans.' Main Street Lake Cruises' own thank-you film, staff and families recording messages to veterans and active-duty members, is the local-business version of the same instinct.
The college that celebrates
The Branson Fam tours the College of the Ozarks β 100-plus student jobs funding the no-tuition Hard Work U model, Edwards Mill turning on Lake Honor β and returns for Honor America, the college's patriotic celebration, staged for America's 250th birthday with drones and fireworks over the campus.
