Table Rock Lake — Fishing, Boating & Swimming Guide
Table Rock Lake is the jewel of the Ozarks — a 43,000-acre reservoir with 800 miles of shoreline, crystal-clear water, and some of the best bass fishing in the Midwest.
Fishing
Table Rock Lake is renowned for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and white bass. The lake also holds crappie, catfish, and walleye. Guided fishing trips run $300-500 for a half day. Bass Pro Shops (the flagship) is 45 minutes north in Springfield — worth the pilgrimage. Fishing licenses required — Missouri non-resident short-term licenses are $42 for 14 days.
Swimming & Beaches
Moonshine Beach is the most popular public beach — sandy shore, shallow swimming area, and picnic facilities. Indian Point has a public swimming area near Silver Dollar City. The lake water is remarkably clear — spring-fed and cool even in summer.
Boating
Pontoon and boat rentals are available from multiple marinas — State Park Marina, Indian Point Marina, and Port of Kimberling. Full-day pontoon rentals run $300-500 depending on boat size. The coves are perfect for anchoring and swimming.
Scenic Cruises
Showboat Branson Belle — a 700-passenger paddle wheeler that offers lunch and dinner cruises with live entertainment on the lake. It’s touristy but the lake views and the food are solid. Sunset cruises are the most scenic.
