Free Things to Do in Branson
Branson’s entertainment strip charges for shows and attractions, but the Ozark Mountains surrounding the city offer spectacular free experiences — and several of the in-town attractions are free too.
Free Entertainment
Branson Landing fountain show — A choreographed water, fire, and music fountain show at the Branson Landing waterfront. Shows run multiple times daily. Free.
Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater (exterior) — The building itself is a landmark. Free to photograph and admire.
Free shows at Silver Dollar City — Wait — Silver Dollar City isn’t free. But the free live music on the Branson strip at various venues throughout the day is genuine. Street performers, buskers, and small stages.
Outdoors (Free)
Table Rock Lake — One of the clearest lakes in the Ozarks. Public swimming areas, fishing from the bank, and hiking trails along the shoreline. Free access at several public-use areas.
Table Rock Dam — The dam that created Table Rock Lake. Free overlook with views of the lake and the White River below.
Ruth & Paul Henning Conservation Area — Trails through Ozark forest with views of the Branson area. Named after the creator of “The Beverly Hillbillies” (who lived in Branson). Free. The Dewey Short Visitor Center has exhibits on Ozark ecology.
Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area — 130 acres of forested trails within Branson city limits. Streams, waterfalls, and caves. Free.
Free Museums & Culture
