Anaheim Nightlife — Downtown Disney, Rooftop Bars & Things To Do After Dark

Anaheim’s nightlife is shaped entirely by Disneyland. The city is built for families leaving the parks, not for serious nightlife. But there are legitimate bars and restaurants with late hours, rooftop venues with decent cocktails, and a growing downtown scene worth exploring. Don’t expect LA nightlife—expect theme-park town entertainment.

Downtown Disney District

Located between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, this is Disney’s retail and dining destination with bars and restaurants.

House of Blues Anaheim — Live music venue and restaurant with a bar. Daily shows (blues, rock, comedy depending on the night), decent cocktails, and the energy of a real concert space. Shows range free to $30+ depending on the act. The venue holds 1,500 people and gets packed on weekends.

La Brea Bakery & Café — Full restaurant and bar with wine and cocktails. Not specifically a nightlife destination, but stays open late and has a full liquor program.

Various restaurants (Tortilla Jo’s, Goofy’s Kitchen, etc.) — Most have full bars attached. Nothing special, but convenient if you’re already in the district.

Anaheim Packing House

A converted orange packing plant that’s become Anaheim’s main entertainment hub downtown.

The FIFTH (Rooftop Bar) — This is your best bet for nightlife in Anaheim. A rooftop bar with views of downtown and the park area, craft cocktails, and a young crowd. Open until 2 a.m. on weekends. Dress code is casual-smart (no athletic wear, but jeans are fine). It’s the closest thing Anaheim has to a “real” bar scene.

Blind Rabbit (Speakeasy) — Hidden speakeasy-style bar inside the Packing House with craft cocktails, dim lighting, and knowledgeable bartenders. No sign outside, entrance through a back door—you have to know it’s there. Cocktails are $12–16, and the crowd is sophisticated but not snobbish.

The Rec Room — A casual bar and grill with craft beer, a full liquor program, and a relaxed atmosphere. This is where locals actually go.

Nearby Fullerton Bars

Fullerton is 10 minutes north and has a more developed bar scene if you’re willing to drive.

Mulberry Street Pizzeria — Craft cocktails and pizza in a casual setting. This is where Fullerton’s young professionals hang out. Open until 11 p.m. most nights.

Bricks Bar & Restaurant — Sports bar with good food, multiple TVs, and a neighborhood crowd.

The Slidebar — Live music venue in downtown Fullerton with a full bar. Punk, indie, and rock acts most nights. General admission $8–20.

Center Street Promenade

The historic downtown Anaheim area trying to revitalize itself.

Edison (Restaurant & Bar) — An upscale restaurant and cocktail bar with craft drinks, a good wine list, and a sophisticated crowd. This is where you go if you want a nicer night out.

Various casual bars — Multiple sports bars and casual restaurants with full bars, but nothing particularly distinctive.

Disney Park After Hours

If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, this is part of your nightlife.

Lounges at Disney Hotels — Most Disney hotels have lounges with full bars and late hours (open until midnight or later). The Disneyland Hotel has the best lounges. These are convenient if you’re already in the ecosystem.

Lamplight Lounge (California Adventure) — Inside the park. If you have evening park hours, this is a full-service bar with views of the park. It’s expensive but part of the park experience.

What to Know

Anaheim closes early — Most bars shut down by 11 p.m. to midnight. The FIFTH and Blind Rabbit stay open later, but they’re exceptions.

Theme park prices apply — Cocktails are $14–18 across the board. Downtown and Fullerton are slightly cheaper ($12–15).

Dress code varies — The FIFTH and Edison have casual-smart codes (no athletic wear). Most other places are casual-fine.

Parking is free — Unlike downtown LA, parking is abundant and free almost everywhere in Anaheim.

Uber/Lyft between Anaheim and Fullerton — About 10 minutes and $8–12. Worth it if the scene is better.

Most nightlife is hotel-based — If you’re staying at a Disney hotel or a major chain, use the hotel bar. It’s convenient and often has live music or DJs.

Friday and Saturday are crowded — Weeknight bars are much quieter and easier to enjoy.

Cash preferred at some spots — Bring cash or ensure your card works. Most places accept plastic, but verify.
